Belmont Park recreation center features Southern California's largest indoor public swimming pool, The Plunge, and the historic Giant Dipper roller coaster. This is definitely a great fun date idea. A terrific day of fun, water, and sun is definitely a good way to have an entertaining date. You can dine at the WaveHouse or Canes Bar and Grill. If you are looking for momentos of your date, visitors enjoy souvenir shopping. Trying out FlowRider, a simulated surfing wave, is an experience all its own. ![]() There are four reservable picnic areas at the San Dieguito County Park. These sites are set among the beautiful towering Eucalyptus groves that characterize this part of San Diego county. The park, only minutes from the ocean, is cooled by sea breezes during warmer summer months. A ball field, basketball court, play areas, and hiking trails are accessible nearby for picnickers and visitors to enjoy. The lower area of the park is devoted to nonreservable family picnics. If you do reserve a picnic site, prices range from $200 to $400, depending on the area you select, how many people you bring, and how long you are staying. This is a terrific way to get to know a first date or to get to know the loved one you have been with for years. Bring a bottle of good wine and some great picnic food and you will have a fantastic and romantic date. Parking is $3 per vehicle. Reservations can be made M-F 8a-5p. |
