 California (CA), also known as the Golden State, is the state with the largest population in the United States. This hub of American habitation is certainly one of the best places to find fun date ideas and romantic date ideas. With the populations of the cities of this huge state overflowing, it is natural that there are tons of fun things to do in California. The capital city is Sacramento, located in the northern half of the state, in the center. The Land Area of the state is 155,959 square miles. California was named for a book, Las Sergas de Esplandian written by Garcia Ordonez de Montalvo around the year 1500. This state became part of the United States on September 9, 1850, making it the 31st state to join the union.
